MIBR came back from a map down to beat eUnited 2-1 and secure a spot at the ECS Season 8 Finals. The online portion of ECS Season 8 came to an end with a close showdown between heavy underdogs eUnited and Brazilian favorites MIBR. The do-or-die match kicked off on Overpass, which saw the North American team take a 9-6 lead over their opponents during the first half. eUnited continued to run rampant going into their CT side as they kept themselves ahead of MIBR for the remainder of their map pick to close out Overpass 16-11. Train saw MIBR claim their first lead of the series off the back of a flawless ace from Epitacio "TACO" de Melo in the third round. However, they were unable to keep control of the map for long as eUnited’s teamwork easily bested the individual performances of their Brazilian foes, resulting in yet another 9-6 advantage for the North American team. With the double AWP setup of Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and Vito "kNgV-" Giuseppe now in play, MIBR began grinding their way back into the map as they gave up just two rounds while on their CT side, resulting in a scoreline of 16-11 in favor of the Brazilian squad. The final map of the series was Inferno, which began with MIBR claiming seven rounds in a row to kick off their CT side. The Brazilian team continued to run over eUnited for the remainder of the half as the confidence we had seen from the North Americans during the first two maps was clearly shaken. With their second pistol round victory of the map on the board, MIBR ran away with the lead, and it was just a matter of time before they wrapped things up. MIBR’s 2-1 victory makes them the eighth and final team to claim a spot at the ECS Season 8 Finals, which will be held from November 28 through December 1 at the Esports Stadium in Arlington. The final team list for the North American event, where $500,000 will be on the offer, is the following:eUnited
